Consultations

Six areas of care, from the first pregnancy test to follow-up after menopause.

One consistent approach

In practice these six areas are one: they answer to each other. Fertility testing sometimes leads to a laparoscopy; a routine scan turns up a fibroid; bleeding after menopause is investigated by hysteroscopy. Handling them in one place avoids starting the file again at every stage.

In every case the approach is the same: understand what brings you in, examine, explain what is seen, and propose a test or an operation only when it changes something about your care.

FAQ

Before you come

How do I describe my reason for booking?

Simply describe what brings you in — a pregnancy, pain, a routine check, plans for a baby. The reason is used to book a slot of the right length, not to make a diagnosis in advance.

Should I come at a particular point in my cycle?

That depends on the test. Some fertility investigations and some pelvic scans are more informative on a particular day of the cycle: you will be told when booking whenever it matters.

Can I come just for an opinion?

Yes. A second opinion before a decision — surgery, long-term treatment, a fertility pathway — is a legitimate reason to consult. Bring whatever documents you have.
